Lady Bird — Key art
Custom key art for Greta Gerwig's 2017 directorial debut Lady Bird starring Saoirse Ronan. Using a promotional photograph and additional screencaptures, I created an image which brought together themes from the film to paint a picture of the overarching story.
My goal was to design a poster that conveyed Lady Bird's wanderlust and desire to leave her hometown of Sacramento. To do this, I created a mural of the Tower Bridge, which is used as an icon of Sacramento in the film and placed Lady Bird literally with her "head in the clouds" in front of a worn and faded image of her hometown's most recognisable landmark. I also added two more elements that are synonymous with her character, her arm cast and her "Vote Lady Bird" class president campaign posters.
